Who we are
Monobath ("we", "us") makes the Monobath app for Mac and runs this website. This page explains what personal information we collect, why, and the choices you have. For any question about it, write to contact@monobath.app. That address reaches the person responsible for the protection of personal information at Monobath.
The Monobath app
Monobath works on your Mac. Your scans, photos, libraries and settings stay on your computer: the app reads your files where they are and never uploads them. There is no Monobath account, and the app sends us nothing.
The only network requests the app makes go to Apple's App Store, to check and restore your purchase. Apple takes the payment, and we never see your card or your Apple Account details. Apple's privacy policy covers that part.
If you chose in macOS to share analytics with app developers, Apple may send us crash reports and usage statistics for Monobath. Apple does not tell us who you are.
What we collect on this website
- If you join the beta list: your email address, when you signed up, and whether you have unsubscribed.
- If you send us scans: your name, your email address, the link to your files, what you tell us about them, the credit you choose, when you sent them, and that you agreed to the scan contribution terms. We download the files from your link. RAW files can hold details such as the camera, the date and sometimes a location; photos we show on this site carry none of them.
- When you send a form: Vercel BotID checks signals from your browser to tell people from automated bots, so our forms stay free of fake submissions.
- When you visit: Vercel, which hosts the site, records technical details of each request, such as your IP address, your browser and the time, to run and protect the site.
- Your privacy choice: when you accept or reject analytics, the site stores your choice in a cookie and in your browser's storage, so it doesn't ask again. The choice stays on your device; we don't receive it.
- If you allow analytics: PostHog records how you use the site, such as the pages you view and what you click, with your browser, your device, an approximate location from your IP address, and errors the site runs into. It sets cookies to recognize your visits. If you join the beta list or send scans, the site tells PostHog that it happened, without your email address or any other detail. Nothing is sent to PostHog until you agree.
- When a form is sent: our server records whether it was accepted, refused or blocked, in PostHog, without your email address or any other detail.
Apart from the bot check, your privacy choice and, if you allow them, analytics, the site sets no cookies and uses no advertising trackers. Its fonts and images come from our own site, not from third parties. You can change your analytics choice at any time with "Privacy settings" at the bottom of every page.
How we use it
- To email you about the beta (your invitation and updates) and when early-bird pricing goes live.
- If you send scans: to test and improve Monobath, to show your photos as the scan contribution terms allow, with your credit, and to email you about your scans and your discount code.
- To keep the website, the beta list and the forms secure and free of abuse.
- If you allow analytics, to see which pages help and to improve the site.
- To meet legal obligations.
Every email has a link to unsubscribe in one click. We don't show ads, and we never sell or rent your personal information.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only with the services that help us run Monobath:
- Resend (United States), which keeps the beta list and delivers our emails, including the details of each scan contribution to our inbox. It records whether each email is delivered. We don't turn on open or click tracking.
- Vercel (United States), which hosts the website and runs the bot check.
- PostHog (United States), which provides our analytics, only if you allow them, and stores the outcome of each signup.
- Apple, which sells Monobath on the App Store and handles payments and refunds, under its own privacy policy.
These providers may process data outside Quebec and Canada, including in the United States. They may only use it to provide their service to us. We may also disclose information when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- Your email address: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. If you unsubscribe, we keep a record of that, so we never email you again by mistake. If you ask us to delete your address, we do it within 30 days.
- If you send scans: your details and the email that records your agreement, for as long as we use your scans, because they prove the licence you gave us. The files, for as long as we use them for testing or show them.
- Hosting logs: for the short time Vercel keeps them, at most 30 days.
- Your privacy choice: in your browser for one year, or until you clear it.
- Analytics data: [ANALYTICS RETENTION].
Your rights
You can ask us to show you the personal information we hold about you, correct it, give you a copy of it, or delete it, and you can withdraw your consent at any time. Write to contact@monobath.app and we'll answer within 30 days. If you live in Quebec, these rights come from Quebec's privacy law; if you live elsewhere, the law of your region may give you similar ones.
If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, or the data protection authority where you live.
Children
The beta list and the scan form aren't meant for children under 14, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has given us theirs, write to contact@monobath.app and we'll remove it.
Changes to this page
When we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll tell the beta list by email before it takes effect.
